Our monthly meetings are normally held from 19:30 on the first Thursday of each month. Most Members take the opportunity to dine at the venue. Some even take
to drink!

Action points...
- The question of having a committee was addressed. First, it was
agreed that the word "Team" was better suited. Secondly, the following
positions were allocated... Area Coordinator (Harry Baldwin), Meetings (Alan
Wilson), Drives (Trevor Clark), Newsletter/STHT (Fiona Dowler), Secretary
(David Rose), and finally Treasurer (Alec Willis)
- The schedule of meetings for the year was agreed. The February
meeting would be held at the Defford Arms, Defford, March would be at the
Royal Oak, Much Marcle, and April possibly at the Royal Oak, Hucclecote (see
below)
- The schedule of drives for the year was agreed. Please see the
Drives section for details
- The South West Area is holding a Four Counties Lunch on Sunday 20 March
in Honiton, which coincides with our own monthly drive for that month.
It was agreed that we would like to attend that meeting. Harry will
pursue this
- It was suggested that we could do our own version of this with a Six
Areas lunch, perhaps in October
- Under "Any Other Business" the following items were raised...
- Left over prizes - Harry reminded everyone that we still had some prizes
left over from the Xmas quiz. It was agreed that the quiz could be
revamped and run again, perhaps at one of our forthcoming monthly meetings
(April)
- Edwards Mazda Barbecue - Alan said that Edwards Mazda wanted to run
another barbecue for us this year following the success of last year's event.
He will follow this up with them. The suggested date was our August
meeting on Thursday 4 August
- Christmas dinner - the date for the dinner was agreed as Sunday 11
December
- Coleford Motor Festival - Gloria mentioned that an acquaintance of hers
asked if we wanted to participate in this event held on Easter Monday 28
March. We agreed that we would. She will follow this up with her
contact
We had a relatively small turn out at this meeting with seven cars and
thirteen people. Despite this we really did manage to sketch out the whole
year! Remarkable!

at this venue! An 8oz Sirloin is £6.95 and a 16oz T-bone is £10. For vegans,

A quiz evening with prizes
Originally the landlord, Peter, told me that the pub was being refurbished at
the end of February. However, it now appears that this work will be
carried out in May. So we have the "old style" pub not the "new style"
one!
Peter tells me we can use one of two rooms - one is a skittles ally.
Unfortunately there are no skittles, unless we bring our own, does anyone have
any?

AutoProud did us proud! Quite a number of cars enjoyed the privilege of
having their boot lids buffed to a shine. Dave Harris, from the company, gave
us a short talk on his company and their products. A number plate draw was
won by Trevor and Gloria Clark who received a full pack of goodies from AutoProud worth about £20.

- The October Drive "Six Areas Lunch" is to take place from a different
venue to that advertised thus far. Trevor and Harry are looking for a
new venue
- Two additional sets of names have been added to the June Drive, namely
Rob & Trish Boulton and John & Sue Hallett
- Lee and Harry have volunteered to participate in the Inter-Area Karting
Competition to be held on Saturday 20 August during the National Rally
- Graham mentioned the annual Coventry Run to take place this year on
Sunday 4 September. Details to follow
- Graham also pointed out that the September Drive "Canal Cruise and Run to Brecon"
was now fully paid for and there may even be a small excess of funds
- Harry has a supply of binders available for STHT magazines. They
hold six copies and cost £4 each

We must have had about four or five new Members at this meeting - great to meet
some new faces! The weather wasn't the best we could have had but the rain
held out till about half way through the night.

- We need numbers at the November meeting at the latest for the MX-mas
dinner
- Members need to vote if they are going to the six areas lunch and if
there is anyone else willing to help with the runs, they should let Trevor
know. (We had quite a few offers at the meeting and probably have enough)
- Mention was made of a drive to Hook Norton Brewery (David Rose I think!)
but it is not open at weekends and he wanted to know if members would be
interested in going over a bank holiday instead
- It was mentioned that the Oxford region might want help for the Spring
Rally and that we would be happy to help.
