2005 Apart from the locally organised meetings, drives and events, Members can enjoy national events. The club's main site www.mx5oc.co.uk has more details. There are also a number of track days. A new site, www.uktrackdays.co.uk, shows more details of track days around the United Kingdom. You might also like to take a look at their Beginners' Guide, which is quite useful. There is also a National Events Phone Line - 07799 410936. For those of you who, like me, love drag racing try these links... Use this drop down list to jump to the month you want... March Easter Monday 28 - Coleford Carnival Of Transport, Coleford, Gloucestershire The whole village is closed off and around 500 cars and a few motorbikes are on display. This year's theme is "Competition Vehicles" April Saturday 23 - Track Day, Castle Combe May Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 - Spring Rally, Margam Park
Yes - to a different country for this year's Spring Rally! There is a whole mini web site dedicated to this event, which can be seen here... For details of the park and surrounding area click here... May Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 - CSMA Classic Event, Brands Hatch, Kent This is a great event and will be held along the same lines as in previous years. The cost this year per day per adult will be £11.50. The normal adult public price on the day would be £20 so it is a great saving again. (Price to CSMA members is £10 but you have to get your tickets from them direct to get this price) The Club day will be the Sunday but we can still get tickets for the Saturday at the discounted price for members that cannot make the Sunday. The event times are - 10:00 to 18:00 daily (but we need to get there by 08:00 to get to the parking inside the circuit). 14 classic car and motorcycle races on both days including F1, Indy and F3000 cars in the EuroBOSS series. The regular mix of spectacular air show, ground displays and non-stop free family entertainment will provide the backdrop to this very affordable and fun event. Tickets are available from

This should be the most exciting Japanese-cars-only event in 2005. This meeting has now evolved from the 2004 meeting into a true multi-event, fully supported and promoted by Japanese Performance Magazine As well as club and trade stands the two day "Show n Go" meeting will feature...
This is a "Must go to Meeting" for all Japanese Car enthusiasts with something for all tastes and all ages. Under 16's go free, every one else pays £10 per day. Shakespeare county Raceway and Japanese Performance Magazine have now committed to a multi-year deal with MRC, who are the organising Japanese car club, to ensure this meeting is part of the Japanese Car Club community for many years to come. And with Japanese Performance Magazine no longer involved with Santa Pod this will be their premier motor show event of the year. So, whatever Japanese car you drive, be it old, new, fast or slow this is the only meeting that has something for everyone in 2005. Please click here for prices... Please click here for the rules of "The Japanese
Street Fighter Championships"... Other related links... Thursday 18 to Sunday 21 - 11th National Rally, Goodwood, Chichester, West Sussex Please note that on Saturday 20 Harry Baldwin and Lee Rawlings will be entering the Inter-Area Karting Competition. Come along and support them! Sunday 4 - TRAX 2005, Silverstone We will be attending the UK’s largest modified car/track event at Silverstone this year. Over 16,500 attended last year’s event and this year promises to be bigger and better. Go to their website to see all the details at www.traxshows.co.uk. The club has pre-booked an MX-5 only track session (approx 20 minutes) and arranged pit side parking for members. This is a great opportunity to take a spin (not literally I hope!) around the Grand Prix circuit with fellow members – not to be missed! There’s also a massive trade area, loads of other car club stands and you can pit your baby against the competition in the 0-60 Sprint Test. All in all, a great day out. Tickets are per adult NOT per car. Helmets are required (£5 to hire from the club) and passengers are not allowed out on the track. If you book with the club in advance, the cost without a track session is £12.50 per person (compared to £20 on the day). If you want to take part in the track session, you have to book in advance and your ticket will be £34.00. This covers driver entry and track time. Don’t forget to include your passengers when booking! Please contact Paul Starkey at motorsport@mx5oc.co.uk if you have any questions or wish to book tickets.
